About the Paintbrush Drying Rack

A rack that hangs paintbrushes head down to dry, so water runs off the bristles instead of into the ferrule, where it loosens the glue. Each brush clicks into a slot sized to its handle, on a bar across two legs, with a drip tray underneath.

What you can change

Holders: springy clips and slots measured to each handle.

Printing it

Prints flat with no supports. Push a handle into a clip’s V until it’s held: the fingers spread and pinch it. PETG springs best (and lasts longest); in PLA, don’t force a handle much past where it starts to grip. With measured slots, measure each handle where it will sit, just below the metal ferrule.

Questions

How do I size the slots?

Measure each handle just below the metal ferrule and list them; each gets its own slot, a touch smaller so it clips in.

How tall should it be?

A little taller than your longest brush, so the bristles hang clear of the tray.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
