About the Pottery Rib Set

Pottery ribs and scrapers in the profiles potters reach for most: a kidney rib, a half moon, a curved scraper, a serrated scraper for scoring and texturing, and a stepped rib for trimming foot rings. Each has your initials or maker’s mark engraved, and you choose the size and how flexible they are.

Printing it

Prints flat with no supports. PETG gives a little flex and stays tough when wet; PLA is stiffer. Sand the working edges smooth with fine paper, or wet-sand, before using them on clay.

Questions

Which filament?

PETG flexes a little and stays tough when wet; PLA is stiffer. Sand the working edges smooth before use.

Can I make them more flexible?

Make them thinner: 1.6 mm bends noticeably, 3 mm hardly at all.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
