Frame Weaving Loom

A frame loom for small tapestry weaving: notches at the warp spacing you choose, a matching comb to beat the rows down, a stick shuttle, and your name on the frame.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Frame Weaving Loom

A frame loom for weaving small tapestries, wall hangings and coasters: notches along the top and bottom hold the warp threads at the spacing you choose, with a comb at the same spacing to beat each row down and a flat shuttle to carry the yarn. Your name is engraved on the frame.

What you can change

  • Type your own name on the frame.
  • Font: 30 to choose from, from script to stencil.
  • Pick its colour.
  • Adjust frame width, frame height and warp spacing.
  • Turn on or off: heddle bar, heddle blocks, shed stick and comb.

What you download

An STL or 3MF for any slicer.

Printing it

Prints with no supports: everything flat but the heddle bar, which stands on its end so its slots and holes run straight up, and the heddle blocks, which stand on end too. 5 mm warp spacing suits chunky and medium yarns; go to 3–4 mm for fine work. Wind the warp up and down round the notches in one long thread, threading it through the heddle bar’s slots and holes in turn as you go.

Ideas for using it

  • A first weaving kit for a beginner.
  • Wall hangings from leftover yarn.
  • Mini weavings for coasters.

Questions

What warp spacing?

5 mm suits medium and chunky yarn; 3–4 mm for fine work, 8 mm or more for very thick yarn.

How big can it be?

Up to 240 mm each way, as big as most print plates take.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
