Round Bead Roller
A round bead roller for clay, fondant or cookie dough: a base with half-round channels side by side, one per bead size, and a lid that slides along it on rails. Roll a lump between them for a perfect ball. Sizes from 6 to 16 mm by default, or 18 to 26 mm, each engraved in front of its channel.
Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.
About the Round Bead Roller
A round bead roller for clay, fondant or cookie dough: a base with half-round channels side by side, one per bead size, and a lid with matching channels that slides along it on side rails. Put a lump of clay in a channel, slide the lid back and forth, and it rolls into a ball that size. Each channel’s size is engraved in front of it.

What you can change
- Type your own bead sizes.
- Pick the base and lid colours.
- Adjust channel length, gap between base and lid and lid fit on the rails.
- Turn on or off: print standing on end.
What you download
An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.
Printing it
Prints with no supports. Standing on end (the default) gives the smoothest, roundest channels: add a brim so the tall parts stay put, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers. Flat, it's quicker but the channels show steps. To use the lid, turn it over side to side (like turning a page) so its channels sit on the matching ones and its rails hug the base. Sand the channels lightly for the smoothest beads. For food, print in a food-safe filament and treat it as a craft tool.
Ideas for using it
- Matching round beads for a necklace.
- Even pearls for cake decorating in fondant.
- Cookie dough balls the same size so they bake evenly.
Questions
How much clay do I use?
A little more than the bead’s volume: roll a rough ball the size of the channel, then roll it in the roller to finish.
Which way does the lid go on?
Turn it over side to side, like turning a page: its channels then sit on the matching ones, and its rails hug the base.
Can I make bigger beads?
Yes: choose the 18–26 mm preset or type your own sizes, up to 40 mm.
Do I need a multi-colour printer?
No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.
Which printers and slicers does it work with?
Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.
Can I sell what I make?
On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
