Stitch Markers

Stitch markers for knitting and crochet: closed rings sized to your needle, or split rings that clip into a crochet stitch, each with a little numbered or lettered tab to count repeats. Print a set in a few colours.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Stitch Markers

Stitch markers for knitting and crochet: closed rings that slide along a needle of your size, or split rings that clip into a crochet stitch and come out again, each with a tab carrying a number or letter so you can count pattern repeats.

Stitch Markers: a customisable 3D print, shown at its starting settings

What you can change

  • Markers: closed rings and split rings.
  • On the tabs: numbers 1, 2, 3…, letters A, B, C… and nothing.
  • Pick the main and number or letter colours.
  • Adjust needle or hook size, how many, thickness and marker colours.

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

Prints flat with no supports. The numbers or letters are inlaid flush in the tab in their own colour, so nothing stands up to snag the yarn: change filament where they start, or let the AMS. PETG gives split rings a good spring; PLA can snap if opened wide. Smooth any rough edge so it doesn't snag the yarn.

Ideas for using it

  • Marking the start of the round on a hat.
  • Counting repeats in a long lace pattern.
  • A colourful set as a gift with yarn.

Questions

Which filament?

PETG gives the split rings a good spring; PLA can snap if opened wide.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
