Map Plaque

The streets round a special place raised on a plaque in a heart, circle or square: where you got engaged, married or first lived. Main roads stand taller than streets, rivers and the sea are inlaid flush in their own colour, a raised heart marks the spot and your names go on a tab underneath. Prints flat with no supports; each colour is its own part for an AMS. UK for now.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Map Plaque

A 3D printed map plaque of the streets round a special place, in a heart, circle or square: main roads stand taller than streets, rivers and the sea are inlaid in their own colour, a raised heart marks the spot and your names go on a tab underneath, standing in a slot that leans it back. A keepsake for an engagement, a wedding or a first home.

Size

About 15 × 5 × 16.8 cm (width × depth × height), one piece at the starting settings.

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

About 79 g of PLA and about 4 hours 30 minutes to print, one piece at the starting settings (15% infill, 2 walls, 0.2 mm layers, on a Bambu Lab A1). Your slicer gives the exact figures for your printer and settings.

Prints flat with no supports, the stand beside it. Each colour is its own part in the 3MF: give each a filament (or an AMS slot). Without an AMS, change filament at layer heights: water at 2.4 mm (the top of the plate less the inlay), roads at 3 mm. The map credit is engraved on the back. The tab at the bottom drops into the stand’s slot, which leans it back a little. Find the place (UK for now), then set how far the map reaches: about 1 km shows a town centre. Questions

Do I need an AMS?

No. Each colour is its own part in the 3MF for an AMS, but without one, change filament at the layer heights in the printing tip: water, then roads.

Which places can I map?

Anywhere in the UK for now. Search for the place, then set how far the map reaches: about 1 km shows a town centre.

What size is it?

About 15 × 5 × 16.8 cm (width × depth × height), one piece at the starting settings. Every size is a setting, so make it as big or small as you need.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
