About the Ribbed Pot Vase

A ribbed pot vase: a squat round body with its shoulder rounding in to a short neck, covered in fine rounded ribs that swirl round as they rise. Part of the Ribbed Vase Collection.

What you can change

  • Rib shape: sharp: crisp ridges, a zigzag round the rim and rounded: soft flutes.
  • Print as: solid, for spiral vase mode and with walls.
  • Pick its colour.
  • Adjust height, width, ribs round it and rib depth, and more.

What you download

An STL or 3MF for any slicer.

Printing it

Its shoulder leans in up to 60°, steeper than most: print it with the fan on full and a slow outer wall, and it comes out clean. Prints standing, no supports. Solid, it’s for spiral vase mode (vase mode or “spiralize outer contour” in your slicer): one wall, open at the top, quick and smooth. For fresh flowers print it with walls, 3 or 4 of them, or stand a glass inside it. A matte PLA shows the ribs off best.

Questions

Does it hold water?

Printed solid in spiral vase mode it’s one thin wall, fine for dried flowers but it may seep. For fresh flowers, print it with walls (3 or 4 of them), or stand a glass or jar inside it.

What does the twist do?

It turns the ribs round as they rise. 0 runs them straight up, more swirls them harder, and below 0 swirls them the other way.

Does it need supports?

No. It never leans in or out more than 50°: a short, wide size softens the shape a little to keep it that way.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
