Initial Bookends

A pair of chunky letter bookends, a couple's or a child's initials, each standing on a foot that runs under the end books. They print lying flat.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Initial Bookends

Initial bookends: a pair of big chunky letters, a couple’s or a child’s initials, each standing up facing the room on a foot that runs out under the end books, with an optional little & on the left one. They print lying on their backs with no supports.

Initial Bookends: a customisable 3D print, shown at its starting settings

What you can change

  • Type your own left letter and right letter.
  • Font: 26 to choose from, from script to stencil.
  • Pick the bookends colour.
  • Adjust letter height.
  • Turn on or off: A little & on the left one.

What you download

An STL or 3MF for any slicer.

Printing it

Each prints lying on its back with the foot standing up from its bottom edge, no supports. Use 4 walls and 20% infill so the letters are heavy and stiff. Slide the feet under the end books.

Questions

Will they hold my books up?

Yes: the books stand on the feet, so their weight holds the letters. Print with 4 walls and 20% infill so they’re stiff.

How big are they?

110 mm tall by default, up to 180 mm.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
