Family Key Rack

A board for the wall by the door with a peg and a name for each person, a heading like Home Sweet Home with a little house, and countersunk screw holes.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Family Key Rack

A family key rack: a board for the wall by the door with a peg for each person and their name above it, a heading along the top (Home Sweet Home, or a house number) with a little house, and two countersunk screw holes. The pegs have flared heads so keys don’t slide off.

Family Key Rack: a customisable 3D print, shown at its starting settings

What you can change

  • Type your own names and heading along the top.
  • To hang it: two screws and sticky pads on the back.
  • Names font: 26 to choose from, from script to stencil.
  • Heading font: 26 to choose from, from script to stencil.
  • Pick the board, pegs and names and heading colours.
  • Turn on or off: A little house by the heading.

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

Prints flat on its back with the pegs standing up, no supports. Screw it to the wall through the two countersunk holes (wall plugs for plaster), or, made without holes, stick it up with strong adhesive strips across its flat back (picture-hanging strips rated for 2 kg or more, as keys pull on it): clean the wall first and press it on hard for 30 seconds. Change filament for the names and the pegs (they start at the same layer, so one colour for both without an AMS), or use an AMS.

Questions

How many pegs can it have?

Up to eight, one for each name.

Does it need supports?

No: it prints on its back with the pegs standing up, their heads flaring at 45°.

Can I hang it without drilling?

Yes: choose sticky pads and it’s made with no screw holes and a flat back. Use strong picture-hanging strips rated for 2 kg or more, as keys pull on it.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
