Heart Photo Frame

A chunky heart frame with a heart-shaped window and a stepped border, standing in two little heart feet. The photo goes in from the back, and a cutting template shows you where to cut it. Prints flat, no supports.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Heart Photo Frame

A heart photo frame: a chunky heart with a heart-shaped window, its border stepped back round it, standing in two little heart feet. The photo goes in from the back and a back presses in after it. It comes with a cutting template, so cutting the photo to shape is easy.

What you can change

  • The back: snug: pushes in and stays and loose: a dab of glue holds it.
  • Pick the frame and cutting template colours.
  • Adjust frame, wide, border round the photo and frame, thick.
  • Turn on or off: heart feet to stand it up and A cutting template for the photo.

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

Everything prints flat with no supports: the frame face down, so its front is smooth. Lay the cutting template on your photo, move it until the heart in the middle shows what you want, draw round its outside and cut. Drop the photo in from the back, face first, and press the back in after it.

Questions

How do I cut the photo to fit?

Print the cutting template: a heart ring the size of the photo, with the window inside it. Lay it on your photo, move it until the heart in the middle shows what you want, draw round its outside and cut along the line.

How does the photo go in?

From the back, face first, then press the back in after it. Its ring holds the photo flat against the front. There’s a little nick at the top to lever the back out again.

What size photo do I need?

A normal 6 × 4 inch print is plenty for the standard 100 mm frame. Make the frame wider for a bigger photo.

Does it need supports?

No. The frame prints face down, so its front comes out smooth, and the step round the window slopes at 45°. The back, the feet and the template print flat.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
