Mug Shelf

A two-level riser for mugs: a row on its base and another on the shelf above, the base curving up into the back wall, with round windows and a rest for each mug. Sized to your mugs; prints on its back, no supports.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Mug Shelf

A mug shelf: a two-level riser for the worktop or a coffee station, a row of mugs on its base and another on the shelf above. Seen from the side it’s a C, the base sweeping up into the back wall in a big curve, with a round window behind each mug and a shallow rest for each one.

What you can change

  • Mugs front to back: one row and two rows, one behind the other.
  • Pick its colour.
  • Adjust mugs along each level, mug base, across, room under the shelf and thickness.
  • Turn on or off: round windows in the back and round rests for the mugs.

What you download

An STL or 3MF for any slicer.

Printing it

Prints lying on its back, the back wall flat on the bed, with no supports. Use 3 or 4 walls and 20% infill or more so the shelf stays stiff under a full mug (with two rows front to back, make it 5 mm thick or more: the shelf reaches out twice as far). PETG copes better than PLA next to a hot kettle.

Questions

How do I size it?

Measure the bottom of your widest mug for the mug base, and your tallest mug for the room under the shelf (add a little so it slides in easily). Pick how many mugs go on each level.

Will it hold full mugs?

Yes, printed with 3 or 4 walls and 20% infill or more. Keep the shelf at 4 mm thick or more for heavy mugs.

Does it need supports?

No. It prints lying on its back, the back wall flat on the bed, so the base and shelf stand straight up from it and the windows go straight through.

Can it go next to the kettle?

Print it in PETG if so: PLA can soften with steam and heat.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs, for as long as your membership is active: if it ends, stop selling them. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
