Slot-Together Christmas Tree

Two flat tree shapes that slot together at right angles into a 3D tree, with a star on top, standing in a round base with the name on it. Everything prints flat.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

About the Slot-Together Christmas Tree

A slot-together Christmas tree: two flat tree shapes that slide together at right angles into a 3D tree, a star on top and little holes for ribbon or tiny baubles, standing in a round base with your name on it. Everything prints flat with no supports.

What you can change

  • Type your own name on the base.
  • Make one, or a whole batch at once: paste a list of names and get one each.
  • Font: 26 to choose from, from script to stencil.
  • Baubles to print: none, flat discs that peg in and round: half-balls either side, pinned through.
  • Pick the tree, base and star and name colours.
  • Adjust tree height and tiers.
  • Turn on or off: bauble holes near the branch tips.

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

Everything prints flat, no supports. Slide the piece with the slot from the top down over the piece with the slot from the foot, at right angles, then stand it in the base. Push the disc baubles’ pegs through the holes; for round ones, push a pin through a hole and a half-ball onto each end (a dot of glue if they’re loose). Change filament for the star, the name and the baubles, or use an AMS.

Questions

How does it go together?

Slide the piece slotted from the top down over the piece slotted from the bottom, at right angles, then stand it in the base.

How big is it?

130 mm tall by default, up to 200 mm, with 3 to 6 tiers.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
