About the Sleeps Till Christmas Countdown

A sleeps till Christmas door hanger: the child’s name across the top, two windows in the middle with number wheels behind them, and “sleeps till Christmas” underneath. Turn the wheels from the sides each night to count down. Change the words for a birthday or a holiday.

What you can change

What you download

An STL for any slicer, and a 3MF with each colour as its own part, ready for an AMS or a filament change.

Printing it

Everything prints flat without supports. Put each wheel behind the plate, numbers towards it, so its numbers line up with a window and its edge sticks out at the side, then push a pin through the wheel into the plate’s hole (a drop of glue in the plate’s hole if it’s loose). Turn the wheels from the sides each night. Change filament for the raised words and numbers, or use an AMS.

Questions

How do the wheels go on?

Each sits behind the plate, numbers facing it, and turns on a push-in pin. Their edges stick out at the sides to turn with a thumb.

Does it fit any door?

The hole at the top drops over a door handle or knob, with a slit at the side to slip it on.

Do I need a multi-colour printer?

No. Print it in one colour, or in colours with a filament change: the Colours line under the 3D view says at which height to change. With an AMS or another multi-colour printer, the 3MF prints it in one go.

Which printers and slicers does it work with?

Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
