Moon Phase Print

The Moon just as it was on a night that matters, worked out from the date and time: lit and shadowed, with the nights either side in a row, the phase named, and your title, names and date. To print and frame.

Customise it in your browser, then download a print-ready STL, or a multi-colour 3MF. No CAD skills needed.

Questions

How is the Moon worked out?

From the date, the time and the time zone: where the Sun and Moon were in the sky, and so how much of the Moon was lit and whether it was waxing or waning.

Does it matter where I was?

Not for the phase, which is the same everywhere at the same moment, but the Moon is lit on the other side seen from the southern hemisphere, so choose where it was seen from.

Can I sell what I make?

On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
