xTool M2
A first laser for crafts at home: cuts and engraves, and prints in colour too.

- Work area: 426 × 320 mm
- Cuts our templates: Yes
- Body: Enclosed
- Price: about £499 (UK)
Our take
xTool’s craft machine: an enclosed diode laser and a colour inkjet in one box, so it can print a sticker or label in colour and cut round it. The laser cuts thin ply and card and engraves wood and leather.
What’s good
- A laser and a colour printer in one
- Enclosed, for use in the house (vented outside)
- The cheapest machine here that cuts our 3 mm sheets
Worth knowing
- Slower through 3 mm ply than the S1
- Can’t cut clear acrylic (no diode laser can)
What you can make on it
It cuts all 4 of our laser templates.
- Laser-Cut Frame Weaving Loom
- Laser-Cut Ribbon and Vinyl Roll Rack
- Laser-Cut Box Maker
- Laser-Cut Name Sign
Compare it with
- xTool S1: Our pick for the laser templates: a bigger bed and the power to cut ply cleanly.
- Bambu Lab H2D Laser: For printing and lasering on one machine: a big dual-nozzle 3D printer that swaps its head for a laser.
- xTool F2: For engraving gifts: names on metal, tumblers, slate and leather, quickly.
