About the Text Embosser
A text embosser: a little hinged press that prints in one piece with its hinge already assembled. One plate has your words raised, the other the same words sunk into it; fold it shut over paper or card, squeeze, and the words come up raised on the page. For notelets, invitations, gift tags and book plates.
What you can change
- Type your own words, first line and second line.
- Font: 26 to choose from, from script to stencil.
- Pick its colour.
- Adjust plate length and plate width.
What you download
An STL or 3MF for any slicer.
Printing it
Prints in one piece with no supports, the hinge already assembled: print it open and flat as it comes, at 0.2 mm layers or finer. When it’s done, flex the hinge gently a few times to free it. Bold, simple fonts emboss most crisply; thin card or 120–160 gsm paper works best.
Questions
What paper works best?
Thin card or 120–160 gsm paper. Very thick card won’t take crisp letters; very thin paper can tear.
The hinge won’t move
Flex it gently a few times when it comes off the printer to free it. Print at 0.2 mm layers or finer so the gaps round the pin stay open.
Which printers and slicers does it work with?
Any FDM printer. The STL opens in every slicer; the 3MF keeps the colours as separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Pick your printer in the designer to check it fits the plate.
Can I sell what I make?
On Pro and Ultimate you can sell the prints you make, for example on Etsy or at craft fairs. On Free and Maker, print it for yourself or give it as a gift. The STL and 3MF files themselves are never for sharing or selling.
