Print a whole class’s names at once
26 October 2026
Keyrings for a whole class at the end of term. A bauble for everyone in the family. A place card for every wedding guest. Making one personalised print is quick; making thirty used to mean thirty files. On Filamora Studios it's one list: paste in the names, and the designer makes every piece, lays them out on as many plates as they need, and gives you the files to print.
Which templates do batches
Anything with a name on it, mostly. A few favourites:
- Name Keyring: chunky stand-up names in two colours, the classic end-of-term gift.
- Gift Tags: a tag for every present, with an optional "From" line.
- Place Cards: each guest's name, with a stand.
- Christmas Ornaments: baubles, stars and stockings with a name and year.
- Snowflake Name: every name grows its own snowflake (free).
- Plant Markers: a marker for every pot (free).
How to do it
- Open the template and choose A batch where it asks for the name.
- Add the names. Type them in one at a time, or choose Paste a list and paste them in, one a line or with commas between. Straight from a class list, a spreadsheet column or a wedding guest list.
- Need two of one? Write "Sophie x2" and you get two.
- Check the list. The designer flags any name that appears twice and any that's too long to fit well, and sorts the list A to Z if you like.
- Download. The pieces are laid out over as many plates as they need, each plate its own file, ready for your printer's software.
Everything else you set (the font, size, colours and shape) applies to every name, so they all match.
Tips for a smooth batch
- Print the longest name first on its own, to check the size before you print the lot.
- Colours are easy in a batch. On designs with raised letters, a whole plate changes colour at the same layer, so even without a colour add-on it's one pause and one filament swap per plate.
- Plan the plates. A full plate of keyrings takes a few hours, so a class of thirty is an evening's printing, not a weekend's.
How many names
A free account makes batches of up to 60 pieces on one plate, plenty for a class. Maker members get up to 100 pieces spread over as many plates as they need, and Pro up to 500, with a spreadsheet (CSV) import for orders. If you sell personalised prints, the designer can keep each order's names together too.
